take my skin colour too

and my dark brown lips

take my self-hatred because i don’t fit into the euro-centric ideals of beauty

take the oppression too

take the history of colonization that has devastated my country

and the drones that currently devastate my country

take all the bad stuff too

not just the pretty, shiny, sparky bits

take the ugly, dehumanizing and shitty parts too

Anonymous sent: shut the fuck up, asians don't face racism. I'm black and I know what racism is, and you don't face it, you gladly benefit from white privilege and oppress black people too. stop thinking that people oppressed is "cool" and go fuck yourself

I’m going to stop you right there.

Black people race racism, of course, but so do Asian people. We’re constantly sexualised, fetishized and stereotyped. Violence against Asians, both physical and sexual, is real. There are racial slurs that are used as a means to silence and demean us. We’re constantly whitewashed in the media, and yellowface is still a thing. So no, Asian people do face racism.

Also, while there may be some white-passing Asian people, they’re still people of colour and most of us don’t look white anyway. Never have I been mistaken to be white and many of my followers will say the same.

I don’t think people being oppressed is “cool”. That’s not the point of this blog at all and I most certainly would much rather not be oppressed. This blog is a safe space for Chinese women and a place for us to share our experiences. Please don’t come in here and invalidate our experiences.

Anonymous sent: Has anyone told you how much this blog triggers depression? Katy Perry's performance is appropriation because kimonos and the japanese tea ceremony isn't something for a white pop star to prance around on stage and "look cool" in. It was disrespectful. Mandarin collars are respected at a fundamental level having maintained its origins and survived in a white-supremist industry. How dare you relate the two. Asians can be great fashion designers in the west because whites don't own fashion.

Lmao White people be like….

ABUSIVE MEN COME in every personality type, arise from good childhoods and bad ones, are macho men or gentle, “liberated” men. No psychological test can distinguish an abusive man from a respectful one. Abusiveness is not a product of a man’s emotional injuries or of deficits in his skills. In reality, abuse springs from a man’s early cultural training, his key male role models, and his peer influences. In other words, abuse is a problem of values, not of psychology.
